Cornus controversa

Cornus controversa

Cornus controversa is a tall, tree-like shrub native to Asia. In our climate, it reaches approximately 6 meters in height.

The flowers are creamy white, clustered in large, umbel-shaped inflorescences. It blooms in late May and early June.

The fruit is a blue-black berry, ripening in September.

The leaves are green, helically arranged, turning scarlet red in autumn.

Cornus controversa requires moist, humus-rich soil. It prefers sunny or partly sunny locations. It is frost-hardy.
