Litsea cubeba

Litsea cubeba

Litsea cubeba is an evergreen tree or shrub native to Southeast Asia.

It grows to a height of 5-8 meters.

The leaves are oblong, lanceolate, and pointed.

The flowers are small, white, cream, or light yellow, gathered in dense umbels. They bloom along the stems, emitting an intense, pleasant lemony fragrance, similar to lemongrass, especially when crushed.

Litsea cubeba requires fertile, humus-rich, and well-drained soil with a slightly acidic pH and high humidity.

It prefers a sunny location.
