Quercus rubra

Quercus rubra is a large tree with a spreading crown, native to eastern North America. In our climate, it reaches approximately 20 meters in height.

The flowers are cream-colored catkins. It blooms in late May and early June.

The fruit are acorns, broadly ovate, reddish-brown, and glossy.

The leaves are dark green, large, helically arranged, and lobed, turning red and orange in autumn.

Quercus rubra has no soil requirements. It prefers sunny or partly sunny locations. It is frost-resistant.

Every order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.

The seeds we offer are of high quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.

Seed Handling Instructions:

Soak the seeds for 24 hours and then store them in moist soil at 3-5°C (3-41°F) over winter.

After stratification, plant the acorns in autumn or spring at a depth of 2-3 cm (0.8-1.2 inches), horizontally, with the root pointing downwards. Ensure fertile, well-drained soil in a fully sunny location and water regularly for the first few weeks after planting, then gradually reduce the frequency.

SEEDS ARE INTENDED FOR SOWING ONLY!
