Eleagnus umbellata

Eleagnus umbellata is a vigorous shrub native to China and Japan. It grows up to 4 meters tall.

The plant has medicinal properties! The fruit contains a high amount of lycopene and vitamins A, C, and E. Lycopene is essential in the fight against prostate, mouth, throat, and skin cancer, and reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease.

The tubular, pleasantly fragrant, yellow-white flowers begin blooming in late May and early June.

The plant is a melliferous plant!

The edible fruit is a drupe, red with light dots, 1 cm in diameter. It ripens in October. If not harvested, it remains on the branches throughout the winter.

The olive tree produces fruit reliably every year! The fruit has a sweet and sour flavor and can be eaten raw or made into preserves.

The ovate, silvery-green leaves, up to 8 cm long, remain on the plant until late autumn.

Eleagnus umbellata has no special soil requirements. It prefers a sunny location. It is frost- and drought-resistant.

Every order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.

The seeds we offer are of high quality and suitable for both nurseries and amateurs.

Seed Handling Instructions:

Before sowing, the seeds should be soaked in water for 24 hours. After soaking, the seeds require refrigeration for several months at a temperature of approximately 5°C (41°F) to prepare them for germination.

Sow the seeds in well-drained soil, choosing a sunny location. Keep the soil consistently moist, but not waterlogged.

SEEDS ARE INTENDED FOR SOWING ONLY!
