Akebia trifoliata
Akebia trifoliata is a climbing vine native to Asia. It grows up to 5 meters tall.
The flowers, clustered in intensely fragrant clusters, are dark purple in color and begin blooming in late April and early May.
The long, pink-colored fruit ripens in autumn.
The trifoliate leaves with slightly notched edges are decorative.
This exceptionally striking plant, along with Akebia quinata, is the second Akebia species, suitable for planting on pergolas, arbors, walls, fences, and other garden structures.
Akebia trifoliata has no special soil requirements. It prefers a partially sunny location. It is less frost-hardy than Akebia quinata and requires winter protection.
Every order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.
The seeds we offer are high-quality and designed for both nurserymen and amateurs.
Seed Handling Instructions:
Seeds require stratification. To stratify, mix the seeds with moist soil and place them in the refrigerator for approximately 30 days, checking the moisture content regularly and aerating them.
After this process, sow the seeds approximately 0.5 cm deep in moist sand or perlite and move them to a bright location with a temperature of 16-18°C, ensuring the soil remains consistently moist.
SEEDS ARE INTENDED FOR SOWING ONLY!
