Melia azedarach

Melia azedarach is a tree native to northern India. It grows to a height of 10-12 meters.

The plant has medicinal properties!

The flowers are fragrant, purple, and clustered in panicles, beginning to bloom in late March and early April.

The fruit, a pale orange or cream-colored drupe, ripens in late autumn and remains on the tree after the leaves have fallen. Rosaries were once made from them.

The young leaves, reddish in color and pinnate, appear in late spring or even early summer.

The seeds, leaves, flowers, and bark are used in traditional Indian medicine for their antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties, particularly for skin conditions. Leaf infusions also have antidiabetic properties.

Melia azedarach has no special soil requirements. It prefers sunny locations. Frost-hardy to -18°C (-6°F).

Each order is accompanied by a receipt or (upon request) an invoice, a delivery note compliant with WIORiN requirements, and a plant passport, if required.

The seeds we offer are of high quality and intended for both nurseries and amateurs.

Seed Handling Instructions:

It's a good idea to gently sand the seeds. Then soak them in lukewarm water for 24-48 hours. After this process, sow the seeds in pots of well-drained, light soil, about 1-2 cm deep. Keep the soil moderately moist at all times, but not wet.

Place the pot in a bright, warm place.

SEEDS ARE INTENDED FOR SOWING ONLY!
