Madhuca longifolia

Madhuca longifolia is an evergreen, fast-growing tree in the Sapodilla family.

It reaches up to 20 m in height.

The leaves are glossy green and clustered at the ends of the branches. Young leaves are pinkish or reddish-brown.

The flowers are borne in green or pink, fluffy clusters, each consisting of 12 fragrant, cream-colored flowers.

Pollinated flowers develop into a fleshy, green, oval fruit containing 1 to 4 shiny, oily, brown seeds.

The seeds are 3-5 cm long, elliptical, and flattened on one side.
