Triadica sebifera
Triadica sebifera is a tree native to East Asia, found primarily in eastern mainland China and Taiwan.
It grows up to 10 meters tall.
The leaves are entire, long-stalked, and light green, with slightly faded undersides. The foliage is alternate. In autumn, they turn light yellow, orange, purple, or red.
Male and female inflorescences occur on the same tree. The tree's yellow-green or white inflorescences occur in clusters about 20 cm long.
The fruit, containing spherical capsules containing usually three seeds, changes color from green to blackish-brown as it develops. The seeds, up to 7 mm in diameter, are surrounded by a waxy, oily, white hull.
