Viburnum rhytidophyllum is an evergreen shrub native to western and northern China.
It grows to a height of 3-4 meters. The creamy-white, fragrant flowers, gathered in corymbs up to 20 cm in diameter, begin blooming in late May or early June. The fruit, red berries, ripen to black, gathered in clusters, ripen in late August or early September. The leaves are large, ovate, dark green, up to 25 cm long, and evergreen. has no special soil requirements; typical, sufficiently moist garden soil is sufficient.
It prefers sunny or partially sunny, sheltered locations. It is completely frost-hardy.
