Prunus amygdalus

Prunus amygdalus is a shrub or small tree that comes from southwestern Asia.

Flowers develop before the leaves appear. White or pink.

Fruits are drupes with an elongated and flattened shape, up to 6 cm long and greenish in color. Young fruits are edible.
The shelled seeds are commercially called almonds.
