Prosopis cineraria is a species of flowering tree in the legume family. It comes from the dry parts of Western Asia and the Indian Subcontinent.
It reaches up to 5m in height.
Leaves are pinnate, small leaflets, usually glabrous, less often hairy. Bracts modified as thorns, sometimes small or completely absent.
Flowers are very small and numerous, gathered in inflorescences growing in the axils of leaves. Papilionaceous flowers sessile or short-stalked, with petals usually white or yellow.
Fruits are pods of various shapes – straight or twisted, flat or convex.
Seeds oval, flattened.
