Pimpinella anisum
Pimpinella anisum
Pimpinella anisum is a species of annual plant from the celery family. It most likely comes from the eastern areas of the Mediterranean basin.
It reaches up to 50 cm in height.
Leaves of varied appearance. In the lower parts of the stems they are long-petiolated, round in outline and strongly serrated on the edges (similar to parsley), while in the upper part the stems are sessile, repeatedly pinnate, resembling dill leaves.
Flowers with white petals, gathered at the tops of the shoots in large, flat umbels.
After flowering, the flowers develop fruits in the form of pear-shaped, flattened on the sides, green-gray scutes.
