Phoenix dactylifera

Phoenix dactylifera is a species of plant from the Arecaceae family. It does not occur in the wild, but is cultivated in many countries around the world.

The leaves are pinnate, stiff. A single leaf consists of lanceolate, pointed leaflets, the number of which can reach 150. The leaves at the top of the crown are erect, the lower ones are hanging.

The small, inconspicuous flowers are gathered in a broom-like, branched inflorescence. The male inflorescence has about 2 thousand flowers, the female one has fewer.
