Paulownia tomentosa 

Paulownia tomentosa is a tree from China, growing to a height of 20 m, with a wide, spherical crown. The plant is adapted to the European climate and tolerates winter without any problems. Paulownia has the ability to grow quickly (up to 2 m per year) and regenerate. One of the advantages of this plant are its large leaves, which in an adult tree reach a length of up to 40 cm. Beautiful, large purple-blue Paulownia flowers, approximately 5 cm in size, are gathered in 40 cm panicles. In our climate, they appear in May, before the leaves develop. Paulownia has no special soil requirements. It prefers sunny places, but it also grows in the shade.
