Parkia biglandulosa to the main deciduous tree of the legume family. They occur in African devices and are used for their pods contained in separate pulps, as well as valuable seeds.

Height from 7 to 20 meters.

Leaves are small and feathery.

Inflorescence resembles a badminton ball suspended at the end of a thick stem.

The tree pods, referred to as St. John’s bread, are initially pink, and when fully ripe are dark brown. Each pod can contain up to 30 seeds.
