Paeonia suffruticosa

Paeonia suffruticosa is a shrub from China. It grows to a height of 2-3 meters.

Flowers are large, single or double up to 20 cm in diameter, fragrant, white, pink and purple, blooming begins at the turn of May and June.

Fruits are rectangular follicles, ripen in August.

Leaves are large, pinnate up to 30 cm long, clustered on the tops of shoots, turn yellow and red in autumn.

Paeonia suffruticosa has no special soil requirements. It prefers sunny or semi-sunny, sheltered positions. Frost resistance up to -29 degrees.
