Oroxylum indicum

Oroxylum indicum is a rare and exotic plant belonging to the Bignoniaceae family. It comes from tropical Asia.
It grows to a height of 18 m.
The leaves are large, compound, reaching about 1 m in length and width.
The flowers are yellow with purple and red spots and a pleasant smell. The flowers are nocturnal and pollinated by bats.
The long, curved pods hanging from the branches resemble swords or wings.
The seeds are round and winged and can be dispersed by wind or water.
