Nigella sativa

Nigella sativa is a plant from the buttercup family. It comes from Iraq and Turkey.
It reaches up to 60 cm in height.
Used for culinary and medicinal purposes.
Small, pinnate leaves
Flowers quite large, up to 3 cm in diameter, growing singly at the top of the shoots. Calyx sepals white with blue veins and light green tops.
The fruit of black cumin is a dry follicle filled with black, flat seeds.
