Magnolia grandiflora is an evergreen tree, native to the southeastern part of the United States. In our climate, it reaches about 5 meters in height.
Decorative flowers, white or cream, fragrant, 20 cm in diameter. It blooms at the turn of June and July.
Fruits are also decorative, composed of follicles. Ripe, they are pinkish-purple.
Leaves are dark green, shiny, inversely ovate.
Magnolia grandiflora requires fertile, permeable soil with a slightly acidic pH. It prefers sunny or semi-sunny, sheltered locations. Frost resistance up to -12 degrees Celsius.
