Fraxinus excelsior
Fraxinus excelsior is a large tree native to most of Europe and Western Asia.
It reaches up to 40 meters in height.
The flowers arise from lateral buds on the previous year’s shoots, forming a panicle.
The leaves are large, consisting of 9–15 leaflets. Each leaflet is oblong-lanceolate, slightly unequal at the base, acute at the apex, with slightly sharp serrations on the edges. The upper surface is dark green, the lower surface grayish-green. The midrib and lateral veins are white.
