Davidia involucrata

Davidia involucrata is a small tree with a regular, conical crown, coming from China, as the name suggests. In our climatic conditions, it reaches about 8 meters in height.

The plant is suitable for Bonsai!

Original, capitate flowers, surrounded by large, up to 20 cm, white bracts. It blooms profusely at the turn of May and June.

Fruits are brown-green, ovoid drupes.

The leaves are green, single, broad-ovate, up to 14 cm long, brown in early spring, later green, turning yellow in autumn.

Davidia involucrata likes fertile, humus soil. It prefers semi-sunny, sheltered positions, it is resistant to frost, down to -26 degrees. C
