Cyamopsis tetragonoloba

Cyamopsis tetragonoloba is an annual plant from the legume family, occurring in semi-desert areas, mainly on sandy soils.
It reaches from 0.5 to 2 meters in height.
Due to its gelling properties, it is used as a thickener, filler or stabilizer for products used in the cosmetics, pharmaceutical and food industries, among others.
Its small leaves have an elongated oval shape, are arranged alternately. Both leaves and stems are mostly hairy, depending on the variety.
In the corners of the plant, clusters of flowers grow, ranging in color from white to bluish.
The developing pods are rather flat and slender.
