Cornus sanguinea

Cornus sanguinea is a spreading, dense shrub native to Europe and Asia. In our climate, it reaches approximately 4 meters in height.

The creamy-white, fragrant flowers, gathered in corymbs up to 20 cm in diameter, begin blooming in late May and early June.

The spherical, ripe fruit is navy blue and edible.

The leaves are dark green, ovate-elliptical, seasonal, and turn red in autumn.

The shoots are long, stiff, dark red, and glossy.

Cornus sanguinea has no soil requirements. It prefers sunny or partly sunny locations. It is frost-hardy.
