Cordia dichotoma

Cordia dichotoma is a small or medium-sized deciduous tree with a short trunk and a spreading crown, native to the Indomalayan kingdom.
It reaches about 25 m in height.

The leaves are simple, entire and slightly serrated, elliptical, ovate with a round heart-shaped base.

The flowers are short-tailed, bisexual, white, opening only at night.

The fruit is edible. It is a yellow or pink-yellow shiny, spherical or ovate drupe set in a calyx. During ripening it turns black, and the flesh becomes sticky.
