Chamaerops humilis is a species of evergreen plant from the Arecaceae family.
Often cultivated as a potted plant.

The leaves are stiff and widely spread, slightly corrugated. The blade is gray-blue-green. The leaf stalk reaches a length of 60 to 100 cm, armed with thorns at the base along the edge.
The flowers are small and yellow, gathered in paniculate inflorescences growing in the axils of the terminal leaves.
The fruits are reddish-yellow. They are not edible.
