Cercis canadensis
Cercis canadensis
Cercis canadensis is a tree or tall shrub that grows up to 6 meters tall in Poland.
The plant’s name comes from Judas, who, after betraying Jesus, supposedly hanged himself from this very tree.
The plant’s special attraction is its pinkish-purple flowers, which grow directly from the tree’s trunk and branches!
The flowering period is April-May.
Cercis canadensis has no special soil requirements and is completely frost-hardy!
