Cenchrus ciliaris 

Cenchrus ciliaris is a species of grass native to southern Asia and much of Africa.
It grows from 20 to 120 cm.
The leaves are linear, the blades green or blue-green, slightly hairy, usually flat and have a sharp tip.
Mature flowers contain a small number of seeds.
The flower head is cylindrical, erect, dense and spiky, changing color from straw to straw purple.
Ciliac grass grows in all types of soil, but mainly in sandy soils and other well-drained soil types.
