Catharanthus roseus is an evergreen shrub found in Madagascar

Reaches up to 80 centimeters in height

Single, elliptical, shiny leaves

The plant is used as an ornament but also in medicine.

Flowers 5-petal in various shades of pink, or white. It blooms all summer long. The flowers are pollinated by insects, but can also pollinate themselves. They fall from the plant before they wither.

Fruits green, hidden under leaves. They consist of two narrow and cylindrical follicles, in which there are numerous, grooved seeds.
