Castanospermum australe

Castanospermum australe also called bean tree is a plant from the legume family.
It comes from the rainforests of Australia.
In nature, the Australian horse chestnut is an impressive tree and reaches a height of 30-40 meters.

It creates a spreading crown and develops very large, feathery leaves, composed of a dozen or so oval, large, dark green, shiny, leathery leaves.

The flowers are large, two-colored, papilionaceous, gathered on the shoots in dense, racemose inflorescences.

The fruits have the form of elongated, bulging, stiff pods, filled with oval, large, brown-brown seeds.

The pods and the seeds inside them resemble beans.

It requires fertile, humus, slightly moist soil. It prefers a bright position with diffused light, without access to direct sunlight
