Cassia grandis is one of the most beautiful trees of tropical forests. This species occurs from southern Mexico to Venezuela and Ecuador.
It grows to a height of 30 meters
The leaves of the tree are pinnate and deciduous, with 10-20 pairs of leaflets.
This tree is particularly famous for producing breathtaking flowers of coral-pink flowers in hanging inflorescences in early spring, and then producing long, narrow seed pods.
The long, woody fruit capsules grow to a length of 50 cm and have many seeds, separated by resinous membranes that taste a bit like carob
Cassia grandis prefers a sunny position.
