Caryota mitis

Caryota mitis is a species of plant in the Arecaceae family, native to southern Asia and India.

It reaches up to 9 meters in height.

The leaves are erect, widely spaced and jagged at the end of the leaflets.

The flowers are gathered in dense clusters. It blooms gradually throughout the year, with the flowers appearing first in the upper part and ripening gradually downwards.

The fruits, when ripe, are dark red and contain 1-3 seeds with fibrous flesh.

It prefers a bright position, but with indirect sunlight.
