Camellia chekiangolesa

Camellia chekiangolesa is an evergreen, low tree or tall shrub from southern China. It reaches about 8 meters in height.

Orange-red, large, showy flowers.

Dark green, leathery, shiny, elliptical leaves.

The fruit is large, the size of an apple, ripe and yellow-red in color.

Camellia chekiangolesa requires permeable, moist and slightly acidic soil. It prefers a sunny or semi-sunny, sheltered position.

Seed Handling Instructions:

Place the seeds in moist, well-drained, and acidic soil (preferably rhododendron mix) about 1.5 cm deep. The ideal location is partial shade, away from direct sunlight and strong winds. Water the soil lightly after sowing. Maintain constant moisture, but avoid overwatering. You can cover the container with plastic wrap to retain moisture, ensuring adequate ventilation.
