Caesalpinia Pulcherrima is a shrub or small tree from the Caesalpinia family, probably originating from the Antilles.

Doubly pinnate leaves, alternate.
Bright red flowers, long-stalked, in simple clusters. The style of the pistil and stamens are slightly bent upwards, protruding from the flower up to 10 cm.
The fruits are flat brown pods that split in two.
Prefers a sunny or semi-sunny position
