Artocarpus lakoocha

Artocarpus lakoocha also known as monkey jack or monkey fruit, is a tropical deciduous tree distributed throughout the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia.
It grows to 10-15 meters in height.

Leaves alternate, elliptical, pointed and leathery.

Flowers unisexual – male and female flowers in separate spherical heads, but on the same tree.

Male flowers are yellow-orange, and female flowers are reddish.

The fruit is a syncarp (the entire female inflorescence forms the fruit), irregularly rounded, green when young, yellowing in maturity, later brown.

Requires deeply permeable soil, rich in moisture. Prefers a sunny position.
