Artocarpus heterophyllus

Artocarpus heterophyllusis an impressive, fast-growing tropical tree from the mulberry family, originating from India. It reaches about 25 meters in height.

Leaves are dark green, shiny, elliptical, up to 20 cm long.

Fruits are yellow, edible, and contain very beneficial nutrients such as minerals and vitamins.

Flowers are small, yellow-green, gathered in spikes.

Breadfruit requires fertile, permeable soil. It prefers sunny or semi-sunny locations.
