Aralia chinensis is a shrub native to China.
It grows up to 3 meters tall. White flowers form paniculate inflorescences up to 40 cm long, and begin blooming in late July and early September.
Round, navy-black fruits, clustered in clusters, ripen in October.
Large leaves cluster at the tips of the shoots, turning yellow in autumn. The plant has shoots with thick, light beige bark and thorns. It makes a good hedge.
Aralia chinensis requires fertile soil and prefers sunny or partly sunny locations. It is completely frost-hardy.
