Aegle marmelos

Aegle marmelos is a medium-sized tree native to the Indian Peninsula and Indochina. In our climatic conditions, it reaches about 10 meters in height.
Juicy fruit, yellowish-green berries about the size of an apple. They are suitable for preserves and can also be eaten raw.
Decorative, greenish-white, fragrant flowers, gathered in clusters.

Leaves are green, elliptical, composed of three leaflets.

The plant has medicinal properties. The fruits, leaves, roots and bark of the plant are used for medicinal purposes, they contain significant amounts of vitamin A and C as well as tannins, alkaloids, sterols, coumarin and essential oils. They normalize intestinal function and stimulate metabolism.
Aegle marmelos has no special soil requirements. It prefers sunny or semi-sunny positions and is drought-resistant.
