Acer ginnala is a small tree or large shrub with an upright habit and a spreading, loose crown, native to Asia. In our climate, it reaches approximately 5 meters in height.
The leaves are small, three-lobed, dark green, and glossy, turning bright red in autumn.
The fruit are winged nuts.
The flowers are small, fragrant, gathered in short, erect panicles, and bloom in late May and early June.
Acer ginnala has no soil requirements. It prefers sunny or partially sunny, sheltered locations. It is frost-hardy.
