 Acacia senegal

Acacia senegal is a small, thorny, deciduous tree native to semi-desert regions of sub-Saharan Africa.
It grows to about 5-12 meters in height.

The tree is of great economic importance due to the gum arabic it produces, which is used as a food additive and as a cosmetic.

Leaves dark green, doubly pinnate.

Flowers small, whitish or yellow, blooming in the axils of the leaves, gathered in cylindrical spikes.

Pod flattened, almost straight, with a short, curved beak at the end.
