Acacia catechu

 

Acacia catechu is a small tree native to southern Asia.
It grows to 6–10 meters in height. The wood extract is used in medicine.

The flowers are small, pale yellow, gathered in long spikes, are a good source of nectar and pollen for bees.

The leaves are bipinnate, composed of almost 50 pairs of leaflets that look like feathers.
The fruit is a tape-like, straight, brown pod 12–15 cm long.
