Mimosa pudica

Mimosa pudica is an evergreen ornamental shrub from the tropical forests of South America. It grows up to 1 meter high.

The plant has a characteristic seismonastic ability! Within seconds of being touched, it folds its leaves.
Small, fluffy pink-purple flowers are placed in the axils of the upper leaves. It begins to bloom from July to October.
The leaves are alternate, doubly pinnate, with one or two pairs of leaflets.

This extremely impressive plant can be grown in pots on window sills and in the summer on balconies, terraces and in the garden.

Mimosa pudica prefers a sunny position and requires regular and abundant watering.
